Belmont Farm Park regarding Health and Safety concerns associated with the proposed retirement of large areas of grazing within Belmont Regional Park.

Through information obtained under the Official Information Act, we have identified a significant number of fire risk concerns that are outlined in the attached letter. We are concerned that the project appears to be focused primarily on ecological outcomes,
 while the potential health and safety implications may not have received the same level of consideration.

Can you please advise whether Health and Safety is aware of the risks identified in the attached letter, whether these risks have been assessed, and what involvement Health and Safety has had in the decision-making process?

Given the potential consequences of a wildfire affecting park users, neighbouring residents, infrastructure, and the wider community, and noting that many of these concerns arise from information released by GWRC under the Official Information Act, we would
 appreciate your response.
