Regional emissions reduction strategy

What we’re doing

This project will develop a collectively-owned emissions reduction strategy which directs the transition to a low-no carbon region. This strategy will identify the benefits and the priorities for the region, as well as being clear on timing, roles and responsibilities, high-level costs and how these costs will be met.

Deliverables

  1. A technical emissions stocktake of current and planned council, and other key organisational activities, to create baseline data for the two deliverables below
  2. A) Review options for modelling decarbonisation pathways and hold workshops to develop a set of principles for a transition to being a low/no carbon region B). Develop an emissions reduction strategy, including scenario and options analysis
  3. Develop an agreed suite of tools to inform further spatial, structure and master planning to achieve low-emissions in urban areas.
